The Hong Kong Writers' Circle is devoted to creating an environment in which writers develop their writing skills and knowledge of the publishing industry with the support of their peers. Our members come from all corners of the globe, and are interested in writing novels, short stories, screen and stage plays, creative non-fiction, and poetry. We cater to everyone from published authors to complete beginners.
Our regular activities include:
• Creative writing workshops. These are informal gatherings, which usually take place on weekday evenings, during which we read and critique each other's work. Many of the participants in these groups have gone on to publish short stories and novels that they first presented to one of our sessions.
• An annual publication.

• An email mailing list. This online forum keeps members in touch with each other, and let's us share news about literary events in Hong Kong. All members can post news, ask questions or discuss topics of interest to writers.
• An on-line workshop where members can post their work-in-progress and solicit comment and criticism.
• Social events. Inspiration, personal contacts and encouragement are all invaluable to writers who often find themselves working alone for much of the time. Through social gatherings we have created a community in which we can support each other. We also occasionally invite local and visiting authors to join us for dinner, which gives us the opportunity to get to know them in a relaxed setting.
